When to go
Edinburgh is a destination for the whole year. During the summer months there are many events and festivals. The weather is unpredictable as throughout the UK even in summer. In winter you will find brief snowfall and rainfall during the whole year. The summer temperature ranges from 15-22 degrees C and winter from 1-7 degrees C.

How to get
To Edinburgh can be reached by plane, train or car depending on the starting point of your trip. Edinburgh Airport is 11 km away from the center of town. To go to the center there is a bus every 15 minutes and taxi (not recommended because it is expensive).

Historical information
Edinburgh is the capital of Scotland since 1437 and the second largest city. The name of the city comes from vrythoniko Din Eidyn (Fort Edin), also referred to in a poem of 600 AD called Y Gododdin. After the siege by the British, was renamed in Edinburgh. Edinburgh is often called the "Athens of the North" for many reasons.
